1. Navigate to https://app.allotrac.io/ and log in to your Allotrac.io site
2. Click the "Configure" tab from the side menu
3. Click the "Custom Field Templates" button from the drop down menu
4. Click the "ADD CUSTOM FIELD TEMPLATE" button
5. Type in a "Name" for the custom field
6. Click on the "Type" field
7. Select the correct custom field "Type" from the drop down
8. Click the "System Visibility" field. System visibility refers to how in the admin site that the custom field will show
9. Select where and how in the admin site that the custom field should appear from the drop down.
"Editable" meaning that the custom field will be able to be edited by an admin user of the system.
"View Only" meaning that the custom field will only be able to be viewed by an admin user of the system.
"Hidden" meaning that the custom field will not be visible to admin users of the system.
10. Click the "Driver Visibility" field. Driver visibility refers to how and where in the driver application that the custom field will show
11. Select how the custom field should appear in the driver application from the drop down.
"Editable" meaning that the custom field will be able to be edited by the driver user when completing jobs.
"View Only" meaning that the custom field will only be able to be viewed by the driver user when completing jobs.
"Hidden" meaning that the custom field will not be visible to the driver user when completing jobs.
12. Click the "Required Stage" field
13. Select which stage of the jobs life you want this field to present itself and be managed.
"Creation" meaning that the custom field will be able to be managed at job creation.
"Loading" meaning that the custom field will be able to be managed by the driver at pickup.
"Unloading" meaning that the custom field will be able to be managed by the driver at delivery.
14. If you want this field to have multiple pre-set values in the form of a drop down, set the "Configure List" toggle to "YES".
15. Start entering your multiple pre-set values for the field
16. Click the "ADD NEW" button to build out multiple drop down values
17. If this custom field will be used in a multi-legged job, tick the "Replicate" check box to copy this custom field's values across into the following leg of the job
18. Click the "SAVE" button to create this custom field template
You have now created this custom field template within your Allotrac.io site. This custom field template will now be available to nest within your custom field groups, to then apply to your workflow categories.
